The Independent Artists’ Greenhouse is a unique initiative developed by the Freshpaint Fair, showcasing new, fully realized bodies of work by promising emerging artists at the start of their professional journey.
A selection committee, composed of curators, gallerists, art critics, and collectors from Israel and around the world, reviews anonymous portfolios and selects the artists who advance to the next stage. The anonymous submission process and the annually rotating committee ensure maximum diversity and equal opportunity for all applicants.
In the second stage of the selection process, the fair’s curators conduct personal interviews with the artists. Each selected artist receives a studio visit, during which the works for the exhibition are chosen.
From the moment they are accepted, Greenhouse artists receive ongoing guidance—throughout the exhibition at the fair and beyond, as alumni. The Freshpaint team selects and prices the artworks, advises on production and framing, oversees professional display and installation at the fair, and manages sales and logistics.
Freshpaint has built a comprehensive professional framework designed to support independent emerging artists, offering them optimal exposure, valuable industry connections, representation, guidance, and—most importantly—the opportunity to earn a living from their talent.
